Developed in the wake of the Citroën-Maserati corporate marriage of 1968, the SM featured Citroën's front-drive chassis and super-smooth hydropneumatic suspension, with power delivered by a Maserati V-6 engine. Revered for its design and capabilities, it is considered a revolutionary GT of its time.

This 1972 Citroën SM was sold new by DiMino Motors in Kenvil, New Jersey, and was discovered by the previous caretaker in Mercer Island, Washington, in 2014, stored in the garage of the original owner's son with just 15,002 miles showing on the odometer. This lovely US-specification Citroën SM is finished in white over a beautifully preserved brown leather interior, which along with the paint, is believed to be original and verified by paint meter.

After its purchase, the notable Citroën enthusiast and collector based in the Pacific Northwest, commissioned a sympathetic mechanical refurbishment. Documented by receipts on file, the refurbishment included attention to the engine, hydraulic system, brakes, suspension, and air-conditioning, as well as the installation of European-specification swiveling headlights, new Michelin tires, and stainless steel exhaust manifolds. The original US-specification headlight assembly is included in the sale.

It has since covered 2,800+ miles, providing the driving enjoyment that can only come from an unrestored car. For modern tunes, Bluetooth radio receiver is tastefully hidden within the center console ashtray.

We offer an exceptional example of this highly advanced and preserved GT for worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston, Texas showroom. To learn more about this vehicle, please contact our sales department at (281) 497-1000 or sales@driversource.com
