27k-Mile 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider – One-Family Preservation Car

Chassis No.: AR167256
Engine No.: AR00102*19127
Mileage: 27,069 (Original)

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is a symbol of mid-century Italian design, spirited engineering, and the golden era of open-top motoring. With its nimble platform, twin-cam power, and timeless styling by Pinin Farina, the Giulietta earned its place as a favorite among enthusiasts, collectors, and vintage rally drivers alike.

This example, chassis AR167256, is a benchmark preservation car. Delivered new in Rochester, New York in September 1961, it remained in the hands of the same family for six decades, now showing just 27,069 original miles.

Recently uncovered from long-term storage in New York, the Spider remains incredibly original throughout—from its numbers-matching engine to its factory upholstery, paint, and trim.

Recommissioning Highlights (2025):
• 100-point inspection performed
• Fuel system fully serviced: new tank, felt straps, fuel level sender, fresh lines, and rebuilt fuel pump
• Complete fluid change
• New coolant hoses to radiator, filled with 50/50 Prestone
• Electrical system revived: all lights and gauges operational
• Fresh premium fuel added

After a long period of static storage - the fuel tank was removed and restored, carburetors cleaned, fluids changed, inspection and compression test performed, and the car starts.

Note: The car runs and idles smoothly but will need further inspection and servicing prior to road use with attention to the brakes and clutch as they require service.

This Giulietta is presented as-found, preserved condition—ideal for those who appreciate originality. The original paint shows consistent readings with one minor touch-up on the passenger door. Interior materials remain soft and well-kept, including firm seat padding, original vinyl, and preserved carpeting. The convertible top and plastic window are also original, showing gentle aging.
