Beautifully Tuned, Balanced & Well Presented

Not to be underestimated by virtue of its design, the 250 GT Coupé was a performer through and through. The car was fitted with the Colombo-designed V12 engine and more than capable of competing head-on with the finest sports car manufacturers of the era while as a most exquisite Personal Luxury Vehicle.

Known limited ownership from new, and nearly 50 years of caretaker stewardship, 1971 GT comes exceptionally well documented and presented for its next chapter. Numerous records and invoices tracking from 1971-2021 document decades of maintenance and upkeep to 1971 GT. Notable services, which appear today, include a 1990-91 engine rebuild and mechanical freshening by Harry Pappas' Automobili Scuderia, followed by minor cosmetics and Precision Wire Wheels restoration of the Borrani wheels, now properly fitted with 185R400 Michelin X tires. 2016-2018 major mechanical service, freshening and cosmetic restoration work by Roselli Foreign Car Repair of San Jose, CA. Additionally, the Ferrari would receive paintwork, rubber seals and consumable items, electrical restorative work and more.

In Spring 2021 the PF Coupe was the recipient of a thorough inspection and scheduled service by DriverSource. This consisted of a rebuild of the Weber carburetors, complete rebuild of the Houdaille shocks by Houdaille Shock Restoration, new concours correct fuel lines by Newco, miscellaneous consumables, steam cleaning of the fuel tank, followed by the installation of a new fuel sender – calibrated to the original fuel gauge by Palo Alto Speedometer. This was proceeded by an extensive top-to-bottom detailing revealing the vast recent work performed and beautiful underpinnings of the car.

Today, the body appears very strait with a notably solid and tidy undercarriage and frame. Complementing the supple, bright upholstery and trim. Both interior and exterior cosmetics have mellowed beautifully, however, still very capable for show display or cross-country touring. The underside is nicely detailed and presents exceptionally well. Rarely seen, an underside “belly pan” is mounted in place. Drivability is excellent, including tight handling, quick revving and the feel you would want and expect out of a robust vintage touring / event car. Engine no. 1971 GT shows excellent compression numbers with great road manners both on the prowl or in pursuit. An ideal PF Coupe that will certainly reward its next caretaker, we have no doubts this Ferrari could offer its pilots a cross-country trip at whim.
