#2210 is a home market example of Maserati's famed Ghibli 4.9 Liter SS Coupé, completed in November of 1971 by Officine A. Maserati S.p.A., wearing striking Rame Metallizzato (Metallic Copper) over White Connolly Leather with comforts worthy of such a thoroughbred GT: adjustable steering column, anti-theft steering lock, tinted & electric windows, heated rear windscreen, and air conditioning. Long excursions are intended to be comfortable thanks to optional power steering, radio, and plenty of power on reserve from the 4.9-liter V8 motor. Maserati Archivio Storico of Modena confirms with original Certificate of Origin that all chassis, engine, and body numbers are matching as it left the factory. Additional Classiche documents include Historical Information Record, Technical & Aesthetic Characteristics, End of Line Data Sheet, Final Tests Data Sheet, and Delivery Note.

The Ghibli was delivered new through Autosport di Scardovi Domenico of Bologna, Italy to Mr. Carlo Ferroni. 2210 eventually made its way to the States and B. Stevenson, its Connecticut caretaker commissioned the restorative work displayed today, to both cosmetics and mechanicals between 2006-2007 with over $54,000 invested at that time to an exceptionally solid example. Addressing paint, ignition, intake, drivetrain, braking, steering, suspension, cooling, and electrical systems.
David Word then acquired 2210. Word was a well-known Italian sportscar collector and frequent rally participant. He was known to own and frequently pilot exceptional motorcars. This was followed by mindful upkeep and driven enjoyment. Most recently, the Maserati received notable 2022/23 testing and services. This included a general tune up to various systems, air conditioning recharge, (x5) new and period correct Michelin XWX tires, and a complete stainless steel exhaust system – from headers to tail. The car presents and performs well, now wearing blue paint over light beige upholstery with complementing beige leather piped blue wool carpeting and 78,000 recorded kilometers.

In addition to its original Maserati Classiche documentation, the SS is complete with dossier of recent Records, Tool Roll, Jack in correct Matching Bag, Spare Tire, Use and Maintenance Manual. This outstanding 1972 Maserati Ghibli 4.9L Coupé is few and far between.
